Dear Members and Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to inform you of my decision to embark upon a leave of absence from the Residents 3000 Committee over this council election campaign period as I pursue a new opportunity in public service.

After careful consideration, I have decided to run for a councillor position in the upcoming elections under the banner, Team Morgan Make Melbourne Safe (Gary Morgan, Liz Ge, myself, and William Caldwell) as an independent team formed only with City of Melbourne residents.

This decision comes from my desire to contribute more directly to our community and to address the challenges and opportunities we face in the Melbourne CBD. I believe that serving on the council will allow me to advocate effectively for the interests of residents on a broader platform.

During this election period, I am taking a leave of absence from the Residents 3000 Committee to ensure there is no conflict of interest and to devote my full attention to the campaign. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and I remain committed to the values and purposes of Residents 3000.

I look forward to continuing our shared mission through a different avenue or returning to the Residents 3000 Committee after the election period.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Yours truly,

Rafael Camillo
President
