Welcome to all who live, work or “hang out” in the city and have an interest in matters concerning WASTE. It might seem a funny topic, but interesting things have been happening in the area of sustainable practices of dealing with whole community waste, and also those smaller matters, like our rubbish collections, and what we do, if we have stuff to dispose of that we can’t just place in the street for regular collection. We have as guest speakers, two Officers from the Engineering Division of City of Melbourne to explain, inform and help us with our problems.This is a rare opportunity, so do come along and join us. why isn’t the council supplying residents with a more liveable city in controlling rats and overflowing rubbish bins certainly to the streets and rationalising the contractors to get the large amount of waste collection vehicles going up and down the same streets and lanes multiple times every day?
Hi Wayne- if you did not attend our recent event where you could have addressed City of Melbourne directly, we suggest you call Town Hall on 9658 9658 (they are on-line from 7am and the earlier you call the better). This is, if you can identify a “hot-spot” where immediate action needs to be taken. We agree, WE DON’T LIKE RATS!! p.s. City of Melbourne will also increase its number of “Enforcement Officers” from 7 to 30. This will hopefully assist.
