Hello fellow residents of Melbourne CBD!
Another year has passed and here we are at the annual AGM again. The formal part will be brief but informative. We (the Residents 3000 committee) want to let you know about what has been happening behind the scenes especially with our “safety in the City” initiative. We also want to tell you of our plans for 2015.
That is not all! This event is a wonderful opportunity for you to tell us what you think Residents 3000 can achieve in 2015. What are your current issues (if any) about you life in the CBD? What is most important to you?
Your committee has discussed the idea that whilst Residents 3000 is a vehicle to “let our voice be heard” it is also provides an opportunity for members to get to know their neighbours socially. A city or town thrives when its community is close knit and networking allows us to help one another. In this regard, we would like to increase the number of social events in 2015 and include interesting speakers who know the city well and who may have made a worthwhile contribution to its character and to the wellbeing of residents.
And that is not all! We have arranged for Andrew Wailes who is the music director of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra to give us a talk about about this group’s long history. We are hopeful at this early stage that we may have a short recital from the choir and orchestra.
And that is not all! We will arrange for delicious snacks and soft drinks. For those who would like to enjoy the event a little more, the Kelvin Club bar will be open. They have an enviable cellar built up over the years with the help of their most discerning members.
