The latest onslaught on Rosati’s in Flinders Lane confirms the sort of “vandalism” that can occur unless the Minister  for Planning places interim heritage protection on the 99 buildings and sites undergoing review by City of Melbourne. Rosati’s was one of the few building interiors that was listed for heritage protection. Judge for yourselves what has replaced this… a large yellow smiley face as signage (can’t miss it can you?) and covering over (painted over? ) the frescoes. We shall spare you the re-vamp! Those were the glorious Melbourne days…
