50 Malis are placed around our city to commemorate the Zoo’s 150th anniversary and the birth of beautiful Mali at Melbourne Zoo in 2010. Different artists have lent their hand to this wonderful enterprise and, though we have no favourite, we picked this one (below) by Deborah Halpern. There is even one artistically “painted” by Mali herself! So enjoy your elephant trail and send us your favourite photos.

These sculptures will be on display until 25 October, when they will be auctioned to raise funds for the zoo. You may register your interest as a buyer at maliauction@zoo.org.au   Good luck with your bidding!
