Police extend crackdown on city’s gang robberies
Residents 3000 believes there are far too many late night booze operations, with new licences being granted and few infrastructure services to support moving people out of the city after the last public transport service at 1.00am. Yes there are taxis – 5000 of them to move 100,000 people and the Night-Rider buses…and Council has done a terrific job setting up some safe taxi ranks…we think State Govt. needs to extend public transport on Friday and Saturday nights for one hour . There need to be more conditions set for late night fast food operators – these become trouble spots after people leave the licensed venues, and we know Council is talking with these operators .We congratulate Police on the work they are doing. Residents 3000 meets with the Police and other Community Groups on the first Wednesday of every month at the PCCC (Police & Community Consultative Committee) meetings, which are organised by the police themselves. The reason for these meetings is PUBLIC AMENITY and SAFETY.
Please write to us if you know of trouble spots or fear for your safety walking home from work and we shall present your concerns at these meetings.Or email residents@residents3000.net.au
