Suggestions & Questions  (under consideration for inclusion into programme)

  • Greenline project – lots of planning but no action. Why is it expected to take 10 years?
  • Urban Forest. Tree planning and maintenance in the Hoddle Grid. We need more vegetation. Care of new trees often lacks attention. Trees removed for construction not often replaced.
  • Preserving historic buildings. Which are the National Trust buildings. Report on state of play.
  • Environmental Protection. Report from the EPA. Noise problems in the city – motor bikes and vehicles with faulty mufflers. Status of air pollution.
  • Electric vehicle charging in buildings. Weight of EVs. Are batteries safe? Are e-scooters included?
  • Renewable Energy. City of Melbourne bulk purchase of renewable energy. How does that work? What are the scheme details? Is there a cost saving?
  • Fire prevention in the Hoddle Grid. Report from the Fire Brigade. How does the system work? What are the fire protection policies between the fire service and building management.
  • Water quality and supply in the CBD. Is recycling happening? How is the city placed to cope with another drought? Where does our water quality standard sit with the rest of the world?
