We are very pleased that Council unanimously deferred the matter of renewing the MIFGS licence for continued use of Carlton Gardens by the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. Readers may be interested in the Agenda Item and Residents 3000’s submission….we felt it unfortunate that the Lord Mayor suggested that we were “demonising” MIFGS when we were in the situation where we had no right of reply.  On the contrary, Lord Mayor, we have never and will never demonise.. we have no quarrel with MIFGS (other than requesting a re-location of this event), unless of course you want to make it look this way. The questions we ask are of Council, and we hope that we have transparency of  process surrounding the re-licensing of this event!!
