And how on earth did we manage to give our Melbourne World Heritage Carlton Gardens the “miss”? We don’t think there was enough publicity for the Gardens during Australian Heritage Week.. 14th – 20th April 2011… just one activity on the very last day at the eleventh hour? A talk on the importance of REB and Carlton Gardens (thanks to Museum Victoria) with a garden walk, weather permitting. And not a line in our City’s April’s MELBOURNE NEWS, under FESTIVALS !! ( but a big “plug” for the the “most successful horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.. set to amaze..” says CoM on page 14 ). CoM has certainly gone missing on our National Heritage Week…or have they “lost the plot” (pun intended)! Let us Melburnians make it something EXTRA SPECIAL next year!
