PPL Submission to Council 0n 17/04/2012  Protectors of Public Lands Victoria Inc submission to Future Melbourne Committee 17 April 2012 on Street Gardens Residents 3000’s position, in short, is:

1/ Not relevant to the CBD  2/There are better ways to “educate” the community 3/ No identification of suitable sites 4/ A Big-Plan is needed,  integrated with Urban Forest and Open Space Strategies and on-going assessment.We acknowledge the work of officers in putting this together.

  1. I find this proposal in the most part dangerous and ridiculous. Residents gardening on median strips carries a danger to the resident and traffic. The use of public land for private interests is inappropriate. Council Land specifically designated for this purpose and not impinging on others amenity would however be great.
